NRDC Action Votes recognizes Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell on her campaign for Congress. While she fell short of re-election, her hard-fought efforts showed the importance of environmental issues to so many in South Florida.
NRDC Action Votes ran outside Spanish and English television and digital ads highlighting the risks of climate change to this South Florida district and the efforts by Mucarsel-Powell to address those threats. Stronger, more frequent hurricanes and rising seas are crucial issues for voters across Florida – and, in fact, our nation.
“Debbie Mucarsel-Powell put addressing the impacts of climate change front and center in her campaign and that resonated with voters,” said Jossie Steinberg, director of NRDC Action Votes.
NRDC Action Votes, which launched just this year, is an independent political action committee that works to promote the goals of the NRDC Action Fund, including working for protection of wild lands, healthy air and water, and addressing climate change.
